Gratitude journaling isn’t new. And it seems like it’s a trendy habit that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon – it also seems like something that can so easily include Jesus. So let’s talk about Christian gratitude journaling prompts! I think I’ll make this a regular thing focusing on different seasons, whether seasons of life or seasons of nature. Here are some thoughts to inspire you for fall. 🍂
- What is something you have or are experiencing now that you used to pray or hope for?
- Read Psalm 95:1-7. Rewrite it in your own words.
- Look outside. Write 5 things you can see and why you are thankful for them.

4. How has God provided for your physical needs today or this week?
- Set a timer for 3-5 minutes. Write all the people you can think of that you’re grateful to have in your life.
- What are 5 things you are thankful for about your partner/spouse/best friend?
- Consider your physical attributes and abilities. Write 3 things you appreciate about your body.
- Read 1 Corinthians 1:4-9. Write a prayer of thankfulness inspired by these verses.
9. What are some character attributes of God that you are thankful for and why?
- Spend a few minutes praising God for sending His son to die for you.
- Write 3 things you are grateful for in each room of your home.
- Write about your gratitude for the fall season and what you are looking forward to about it.

Gratitude journaling – especially when we shift the idea to encompass giving God thanks – is a fantastic practice to help us find peace and calm in a crazy world. I find that getting my words on paper (or even just a note on my phone or a google doc) can reset my thinking and center my heart on finding the good God has given me to experience each day. I hope these gratitude journaling prompts inspire you to focus on God’s provision and his faithfulness in this season.
